Beautiful

Love the interaction, interesting read.

The future of textbooks

What an engaging way to absorb content! I cant wait to see more like this!

Beautiful presentation

Excellent use of the medium, but still lots of room for improvement, including 1) ability to annotate 2) ability to copy text 3) dictionary 4) footnotes. I look forward to updates, and wonder if content will be updated as necessary as well. That would be a great advantage over the print version. Oh, better yet, versioning a la Wikipedia!

Everyone should read this

This is a beautiful interactive ebook, full of information that will shock, scare, and give hope.

Great info about our future...

Did u like "an innconvinont truth"? If yes, buy it.

Bug...

Cant get past the globe page.....???

Outstanding

The future of e-books, specifically e-textbooks. Push Pop Press has set a new benchmark for quality, interactivity, and the overall e-book reading experience. The look and feel are superb, rivaling a National Geographic magazine in terms of visual aesthetics, and any university or college textbook in terms of knowledge transfer. Additionally, it seems only fitting that an environmentally friendly book find an environmentally friendly way to communicate its message. Simply brilliant, this app/book is a must-have if you own an iPad, even if just to show it off to your friends.

Im 14 and i loved

Everything i thought it would be and much more

Great content and design

Amazing. Buy read it. Act.

Well, Push Pop Press, why did you vanish in the great nothingness?

What an ALMOST flawless piece of work Our Choice has appeared before me. I heard about it on a TED talk while Mike Mattas was making a demo of it. I immediately went to the AppStore to buy it. It is one of the greatest use of hardware and screen space I have seen. However, I was so astonished that I wanted to try this new approach myself over existing solutions like Adobe InDesign, although I consider it already as a truly powerful and reliable solution. Perhaps I wanted to get inspired, maybe just to try out and see. BUT!!! Push Pop Press have sold themselves to the worst entity the world has known ever. They sold their souls to Facebook!!! They even abandoned the private beta project for developers to explore this idea. That means no more development in the horizon from their part. Only one book, then its over. Although it is a great piece of execution, it remains one of the biggest heartburn to learn something like that. What a monumental waste. Imagine a truly creative company like Apple selling themselves then get lost into something as low-fi and gross as Microsoft? I dont believe it. Well this is THEIR CHOICE. And it ruins EVERYTHING. It was so exciting in the first place. Probably as much as the first time I watched an italian firework show on a summer night. But then, suddenly, it became part of the largest moron magnet in the world. Just like that. It could have been one of the funniest platforms a designer could have dreamed of for publishing sophisticated content on an emerging new platform, but no! OF COURSE FB can make better use of it. {especially looking at what they are doing now} I wrote this in case someone start to get as high as I got before learning about this sad enough truth. Thanks for reading though.

Great app and book!

Very informative and fun to read. All the interactive media embedded in the book keeps you glued to the pages and wanting more.

Good book, but sketchy offline availability...?

While I havent read through the whole book I can say how it was put together is amazing. Its very unfortunate the publisher (Push Pop Press) was purchased by and absorbed into Facebook. That said... Whats with the solo updating? This book/app was fully downloaded and installed. Why was it when I went to access it offline (after not using it for a while) the app was there, but every chapter said "Downloading"? I was not able to use it at all. Now I have to leave the app open in order for it to download content, as it apparently uses its own live updating rather then updating through the app store and therefore will not update it the background.

Good content, slow loading

It is a nicely designed app, but it has to download content when you use it, and is usually really slow. I would prefer a normal ebook, personally, as waiting for the video or even the chapters to just load is painful.

THANK YOU

My new iPad is happy of Retina support... Beautiful book, and subject...

Why are you charging money?

I thought you were trying to change the world Al? Who is going to buy this unless they already think Climate Change is a problem?

The importance of this book goes beyond its message.

Thank you for Our Choice. The importance of this book goes beyond its message. Our Choice shows the way forward not only for the environment but for the world of publishing, using text, images, video, audio, narration, and photographs to illuminate and explore its subject in Gores gorgeous interactive eBook. Push Pop Press created groundbreaking software to publish books of the future, using Our Choice to showcase the possibilities and the way forward. Unfortunately, Facebook noticed too, and bought Push Pop Press, ending their software initiative. (A more disappointing day I do not remember; it took a global search and almost a year to find another publisher with such capabilities.) I am deeply grateful to Al Gore and Push Pop Press for their inspiration. - Ian Coristine

Spectacular

This app is truly stupendous! The information that is provided is clear, easy to understand, and to the point. However, what really makes it worth while are the pictures, videos, and hands on info graphics. It is perfect for any age group. Having everything be interactive is revolutionary to the world of app books. Well done to Al Gore! The graphics look really amazing on the New iPads retina display, graphics are so clear (makes you seem like your actually on the page, or in the specific places). The same is for the iPhone. I rate this app a perfect 5/5 for the graphics, animations, narrations, videos, and of course the actual information. Really makes you want to do something about the climate crisis as soon as you start using the app. A great app, completely worth the $4.99. Buy it now.

Looks good but crashes.

I was excited to download, and read, this book on such an important topic. I was disappointed, however, that it crashed every time I tried to launch it. I have reinstalled it multiple times, with no success. If a developer reads this, I am on the new iPad (4G model) and am running iOS 6. I really hope it is updated, I really want to read it.

A+

Very well done!
